SPHATIK BHASAM is a preparation made from ALUM and contains –

  1. Aluminium Sulphate
  2. Potassium Sulphate

It is also called Potash Alum, which is colorless and water-soluble compound. It is commonly used in ayurvedic medicine for its astringent and styptic actions. It has following chemical formula – K2SO4.Al2(SO4)3.24H2O

DOSES

— 125 mg to 500 mg with honey or other suitable vehivle as directed by the Ayurvedic Physician

CLINICAL USES AND INDICATIONS

—its main action is to clear the srotas from the DOSHAS which are obstructing them

—this act as very good coagulant called RAKTASTAMBHAKA in Ayurveda

—it helps to control the acute cough and breathlessness by clearing the airways by expelling the collected mucus

—in the chronic bronchitis cases when there is difficulty in expelling out the mucus

—in the chronic cough of the children

—in sewere whooping cough—SPHATIK 1 + PRAWAL PISHTI ½ + KAKARASINGI CHURAN 2 with honey

—when given in typhoid it heals the wounds in the intestines

—it is also helpful in the healing of the ulcers in the cases of ulcerative colitis and crohns disease

—in chronic loose motions it is given with laghu gangadhar churan

—in the loose motion it is given with SHUDHA SWARNAGAIRIK

—in the cases of leucorrhoea this is Given with YAVAKSHAR – GOOD EFFECT

—in bleeding wound—powder of this & MURDASANG with ghee or as powder stops the bleeding at once & heals the wound very soon & acts as a antiseptic

EXPECTED DISCOMFORTS –

This is not recommended to be used for long periods.
